Ultrafiltration membrane maintenance kit

The ultrafiltration membrane maintenance kit is essential if you want to replace your membrane for the first time, as it contains the tools you need to dismantle and reassemble your ORISA® water purifier.

Gasket kit

The pack includes 7 spare seals to replace the original ones in the event of wear on the pump handle and pre-filter.

NSF silicone grease 20g

Silicone grease is used to lubricate the seals in the ORISA® water purifier or to grease replacement seals before they are installed to replace worn seals.

50μm pre-filter

The ORISA® 50 µm pre-filter is designed to retain the largest impurities in the water, protecting the ultrafiltration membrane and extending its life.

Pre-filter brush

To ensure that the 50 micron pre-filter performs at its best, regular cleaning with the dedicated brush is recommended to unclog the pre-filter pores.

    The ultrafiltration membrane

    The ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane filters suspended matter and pathogenic micro-organisms (viruses, bacteria, microplastics, etc.) from water. It can filter around 20,000L of water before needing to be replaced to maintain its performance and optimum flow rate of 3L/min.

    The 50μm prefilter

    The 50 μm pre-filter, located at the base of the ORISA® water filter, retains the largest particles during filtration. Over time and with use, it can become clogged. It should then be cleaned using the pre-filter brush supplied. If the pre-filter becomes too clogged and is not maintained regularly, it will be essential to replace it.

    The seals

    The ORISA® water purifier is fitted with several seals to ensure that it is watertight. Over time and with use, they can deteriorate. They should be replaced with new ones and lubricated with a suitable grease to ensure that they work properly.

Changing the ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane

Frequency

Each ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane can filter up to 20,000 litres of water. This estimate may vary depending on the frequency of use, the frequency of backwashing and the turbidity of the water to be filtered.

If you notice a reduction in the flow of water after carrying out maintenance operations (backwashing and disinfectant cleaning), without seeing any significant improvement, you can replace the ultrafiltration membrane in your water purifier.

In addition, if you carry out a safety test, also known as a ‘bubble test’, which shows that the ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane is not intact, you should replace the ultrafiltration membrane.

First replacement

To change the ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane for the first time, you will need the ultrafiltration membrane maintenance kit, consisting of a new membrane, the appropriate tools and the coding support to help you dismantle and reassemble the purifier.

Future replacement

After the first replacement using your ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane maintenance kit, you can order the ultrafiltration membrane as a single unit, as you will already have all the tools you need.

How do I replace the ORISA® membrane?

How often should I replace the seals?

There is no set time limit. Durability depends on how you use and maintain your seals. We therefore recommend that you check the condition of your seals and apply silicone grease if they are not sufficiently lubricated. To do this, you can check the seals at the end of the handle, inside the system, by unlocking the handle latch to remove it. Also, when you clean the prefilter regularly with the ORISA® brush, make sure that the seal is still in good condition. If it is not, replace them to keep the filtration system watertight. If the seals are too worn, they can lead to a loss of pressure, affecting the filtration flow rate.

Why is ORISA® silicone grease the best choice?

ORISA® silicone grease is ideal for lubricating handle and pre-filter seals. This grease lubricates surfaces subject to food hygiene standards. Its specific formula ensures optimum lubrication in compliance with these standards. Make sure you use a silicone grease that complies with food standards.

How often should I clean the prefilter?

We recommend that you clean the pre-filter very regularly. To maintain a satisfactory flow rate, it must be free of any natural deposits that may cling to the sieve. We supply a soft brush with your ORISA® water purifier to ensure that it is cleaned safely, without damaging the filter screen, and effectively, by removing agglomerated impurities.

Why is the ORISA® brush the best choice?

The ORISA® brush is made of soft bristles. So brushing your pre-filter with it won't damage the pre-filtration screen. You will therefore maintain effective pre-filtration, preserving your ORISA® ultrafiltration membrane. We strongly advise against using a brush with hard bristles, which would damage the pre-filtration screen.
